Description
This activity provides an overview of how to properly distinguish usual ductal hyperplasia from atypical ductal hyperplasia and low-grade ductal carcinoma in situ, as well as flat epithelial atypia from various columnar cell lesions. The clinical significance and current management of these diagnoses will also be discussed.

After you complete the activity, you will be presented with a 5-question posttest.

Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, you should be able to:

  1. Distinguish usual ductal hyperplasia from atypical ductal hyperplasia and low-grade ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS).
  2. Distinguish flat epithelial atypia (FEA) from various columnar cell lesions.
