Description
This activity features six cases in which you will review whole slide images of surgical specimens to diagnose diseases. You will be presented with information on each case including clinical history, specimen source information, diagnostic findings and/or other ancillary testing data, as well as a corresponding whole slide image. Five assessment questions will be presented immediately after reviewing each case.
Objectives
After completing this activity, you should be able to:
- Examine dermatology biopsy slides and establish the diagnosis by integration of clinical information and morphologic findings.
- Explain the histologic features of dermatologic entities.
- Use ancillary studies and techniques, when needed, to distinguish entities in the differential diagnosis of skin lesions.
- Describe the clinical course and pathogenesis of common cutaneous diseases.
