Description
This activity features four challenging cases in which you will use whole slide images to make a diagnosis. You will be presented with clinical information and a touch imprint image on each case, and then asked to make a general adequacy decision followed by a general category decision. You will be asked whether the tissue requires any special handling for additional studies based upon the touch imprint findings and if appropriate, be presented with results of ancillary studies. You will then select a diagnosis for the case and be presented with educational feedback.

After you complete each case by selecting the correct diagnosis, you will be presented with a 20-question posttest. These questions relate to the correct diagnosis for each of the four cases.

Objectives
After completing this SAM eligible activity and posttest, you should be able to:

  1. Triage material for appropriate ancillary tests based upon initial intraprocedural assessments.
  2. Formulate a reasonable differential diagnosis using patient history, clinical information, ancillary studies, and morphology.
  3. Select appropriate ancillary studies for a touch imprint case after viewing the histology slide(s) to aid in final diagnosis.
  4. Select appropriate ancillary studies to aid in risk stratification and prognosis and to guide therapy.
