Dealing with behavioral concerns, particularly harassment, is identified as a challenge by practicing pathologists. Most training programs are focused on training pathologists to be competent diagnosticians and laboratory directors but may not address how to deal with challenging behavior such as workplace harassment. This activity will help you recognize workplace harassment as well as understand the impact harassment may have on the individual and team and the risk posed to individual careers and institutions. Strategies to manage harassing behaviors will also be addressed.
This clinical pathology activity is intended for pathologists.
After completing this activity, you should be able to:
- Recognize types of workplace harassment.
- Determine the impact of harassment on the individual and the team.
- Construct a plan to address harassing behavior.
