Description
Precision oncology in the treatment of solid tumors requires familiarity with an ever-growing body of molecular biomarkers and available tests for assaying them. Discover the implications of these biomarkers and improve your ability to select assays and materials for the optimal testing of patients with solid tumors.

This clinical pathology activity is intended for pathologists.

Objectives
After completing this activity, you should be able to:

  1. Identify molecular biomarkers of common solid malignancies.
  2. Describe the implications of these biomarkers for treatment or prognosis in common solid tumor malignancies.
  3. Identify the limitations of various molecular testing methodologies.
  4. Use resources to develop an approach to solid tumor molecular biomarker testing in specific tumor types.
  5. Describe strategies for tissue stewardship.
