Description
This online Neuropathology Program (NP) uses digital imaging technology and features a minisymposium followed by eight educational cases. It includes the clinical history, tissue site, and applicable static and whole slide images; followed by assessment questions and further diagnostic information. Printable PDFs of the cases and images are available.
Objectives
After completing this activity, you should be able to:
- Recognize clinical and neuroimaging characteristics that facilitate clinicopathologic correlation of neoplastic and nonneoplastic lesions of the nervous system, including muscle and nerve.
- Discuss gross, cytologic, and histologic features that help define a preliminary differential diagnosis.
- Identify ancillary tests including but not limited to, special stains, immunohistochemistry, and molecular testing, that help to confirm diagnosis and predict prognosis or influence therapeutic interventions.
