Description
This activity discusses the spectrum of mucinous neoplasia (cystadenoma, low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm, HAMN, MACA), World Health Organization guidelines and new terminology, goblet cell lesions terminology, gray zones and staging, and the pain points and pitfalls.
This activity was originally presented at CAP20 as part of the activity Gastrointestinal, Liver, and Pancreaticobiliary Neoplasms: Precursors and Progeny Charting the Course.
Objectives
After completing this activity, you should be able to:
- Apply morphologic diagnostic criteria to distinguish between cystadenoma, low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm, HAMN, and MACA.
- Review the new World Health Organization guidelines and terminology.
